Off to the Greek islands

First stop: Symi
Crossing a short 6 miles across to the Greek Island of Symi. Light breeze, but with a full day to make the port of Pedi, sail came out and Moonbeam did what a sailboat does, sailed at a slow 3 knots. It did not matter, the boat was sailing!

This is a small sheltered opening along the shoreline. Next day, three miles up the coast to the main port, Nisos Symi, we'll will connect with the agent who untangles the red tape of formally clearing-in to Greece.

Moonbeam is facing the entrance into Pedi and tied up at the pier. As the summer season for vacationers has not yet begun, the walk into town was mostly without tourists. For a light meal at a local taverna overlooking the harbor, what better to have than traditional Greek dishes, grilled feta cheese and herbs, followed by Moussaka.

Scenes in the harbor ....
